A hands-on coastal photography and editing experience designed to help you shoot with intention and edit with confidence.
This 2-day workshop in Bunbury takes you through a complete real-world workflow — from capturing strong images in the field to refining them in Lightroom and Photoshop.
Whether you're feeling stuck in your photography or want to move beyond presets, this workshop is designed to help you understand why you shoot and how to create images that feel like your own.
What You’ll Learn
Across the weekend, you’ll gain practical, real-world skills including:
- How to compose stronger images in any environment
- Working with natural light and changing conditions
- Long exposure techniques without overcomplicating settings
- A complete Lightroom workflow (import → cull → edit → colour grade)
- Masking and targeted adjustments
- Photoshop techniques to refine and elevate your images
- How to create mood, depth, and consistency in your edits
Workshop Schedule
Day 1 – Shooting & Lightroom Workflow
8:00am – Meet & Welcome (Gather & Co)
We’ll start with introductions and a quick overview of the day.
8:30am – Coastal Shoot (Wyalup Rocky Point)
A guided shoot focused on composition, light, and long exposure techniques.
Midday Break
12:00pm – 4:00pm – Lightroom Workshop
Work through a full editing workflow using your own images:
- Culling & organisation
- Panel walkthrough
- Masking
- Colour grading
Sunset Shoot – Back Beach
Capture your final images while learning how to work with changing light.
Day 2 – Photoshop & Creative Editing
9:00am – 1:30pm – Photoshop Session (Gather & Co)
Refine your images and learn:
- Image clean-up
- Sky replacement (when to use it)
- Blending exposures
- Enhancing mood and depth
2:30pm – 4:30pm – Creative Techniques Session Rocky Point/Lighthouse
We’ll head back out for a hands-on session focused on motion and creative techniques — helping you move beyond “static” photography.
You’ll learn and practice:
- Panning – capturing movement while keeping your subject sharp
- Shutter drag – introducing motion and energy into your images
- Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) – creating abstract, artistic results
- How to experiment confidently and break away from “perfectly sharp” images
This session is designed to push your creativity and give you techniques you can continue using long after the workshop.
Optional Sunset – Apply What You’ve Learned
We’ll finish the day with an optional sunset session near Back Beach / Lighthouse.
This is your chance to:
- Apply both your shooting and editing mindset
- Refine your composition
- Capture a final, strong image to take away from the weekend
Please note: Accommodation is not included.
If you are travelling from outside Bunbury, you will need to organise your own stay.
