Explore the creative possibilities of photography after dark! πΈβ¨
Join me for an evening of creativity, experimentation and light painting at an atmospheric, derelict coastal location somewhere around Fremantle.
With weathered structures, interesting textures and an industrial coastal backdrop, this location offers an incredible opportunity to create something a little different.
During this small-group workshop, we'll explore how to use light, movement and long exposures to transform an ordinary scene into something extraordinary.
Whether you're new to long exposure photography or looking to experiment with more creative techniques, this workshop is all about stepping outside your comfort zone, trying new ideas and having fun with your camera.
What We'll Explore
-
Steel Wool Photography: Discover how long exposures can capture dramatic circles and trails of sparks during a supervised steel wool spinning demonstration, subject to location approval and fire safety conditions.
-
Creative Light Painting: Experiment with handheld lights, colours and movement to create interesting patterns and illuminate subjects.
-
Long Exposure Photography: Learn how shutter speed, aperture and ISO work together to capture movement and light after dark.
-
Creative Composition: Use the atmospheric coastal surroundings, weathered structures and textures to create striking images.
-
Camera Settings and Techniques: Learn how to focus in low light, achieve balanced exposures and capture sharp images.
There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions, experiment with different techniques and capture your own creative images.

Important Information
Places are strictly limited to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate and receive guidance.
As this is an outdoor coastal workshop, the event is weather-dependent. Calm conditions are essential, and the date may need to be adjusted if conditions are unsuitable.
Participants will receive further information, including the exact meeting point and final arrangements, before the workshop.
Please only book if you genuinely intend to attend. Considerable time and preparation go into organising these small-group experiences, and limited places mean someone else may miss out.
Come along, get creative and discover what you can achieve with a camera and a little light after dark!
